I recently had the pleasure of staying at HI USA New York for four nights, and I must say it was a fantastic experience. As a solo traveler, one of the highlights of my trip was the opportunity to meet fellow backpackers and travelers from around the world, and this hostel provided the perfect setting for that. The dorm room I stayed in was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. The beds were cozy, and the storage lockers provided ample space for my belongings. It was great to have the chance to connect with people from different cultures and backgrounds, as we shared stories and travel tips throughout our stay. One of the best features of this hostel was access to communal facilities. The pool table was a hit, and it served as a great way to break the ice and engage in friendly competition with other guests. The terrace provided a lovely space to relax and unwind after a long day of exploring. The open kitchen was convenient for preparing meals, and it also encouraged interaction among guests. The lounge areas were cozy and inviting, perfect for unwinding after a day of exploring the city. Another aspect that impressed me was the availability of pay-per-use laundry facilities. For those who intend to stay longer, this service is invaluable. It's a thoughtful addition that shows the hostel's commitment to providing a comfortable and convenient stay for all guests. In terms of location, this hostel is a gem. New York City can be quite expensive, but staying at HI USA New York allows budget-conscious travelers like myself to experience the city without breaking the bank. With plenty of delis and coffee shops and even a subway stop in the vicinity, finding affordable and delicious food was never a problem. Overall, my stay at HI USA New York was a memorable one. The opportunity to make friends from around the world, the access to communal facilities, and the budget-friendly accommodation made it an excellent choice for any traveler.

Stayed at HI Hostel NYC during my first visit to NYC for 5 days. Its location (Upper West of Central Park) could make you think it's less ideal if you're visiting NYC, and it's located <5min walk from a subway station, which gets you to central Manhattan in ~30min. (It's great if you don't want to be in the extreme business of Manhattan) On each floor there's several bathrooms that were kept clean. And communal spaces were kept clean as well. Inside the hostel they offer food (sandwiches, bagels, etc) although there is also a Deli across the street and a grocery store with all amenities <5min walk (at the metro station). In the basement they have a big communal kitchen which is well equipped. (2 large fridges and a freezer, multiple stoves, etc) Staff were friendly and willing to help. And they organize several events during the week (from social meetings 2x/wk), walking tours, and pub crawls. During my stay at Pride month, they also organized several Pride events and even a night going to a party in Brooklyn. The hostel offers yoga classes throughout the week and have a dedicated yoga/workout room. Thank you, HI Hostel NYC, for letting me use that space to do my own yoga practice! As my first stay was so pleasant on my way back passing through NYC, I stayed here a second time for one night and would recommend it if you're visiting NYC on a budget. (Either solo, small groups, couples, or families)

The room had a card key for entry and a locker spacious enough for a 60L backpack, secured with a regular padlock that you need to bring. The air conditioner made the room cold when on, but the temperature was comfortable when turned off. There were two outlets near the bed (although one happened to be broken). You could use one of the four baths and four toilets on a first-come, first-served basis. One dryer was provided on the wall. The cleanliness matched the price, making it a great place to stay. What pleased me was the availability of a washing machine and dryer on the second floor, and the added convenience of being able to pay with Apple Pay for laundry. Just remember to bring your own detergent. The cafe near the lobby was relatively inexpensive but served delicious food. Additionally, there was an underground kitchen available, along with a large refri.ge、rator for those who prefer cooking themselves.

My stay at the hostel exceeded my expectations. The facility was clean, well-organized, and seemed recently renovated. The rooms were comfortable and equipped with lockers, curtains to cover the beds, reading lights, and plenty of charging outlets (including USB). The atmosphere was very friendly, and they even organized wonderful events for socializing! The location is very convenient (3 minutes walking from subway line 1, 10 minutes from Central Park, and near the charming neighborhood of Harlem).

The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The snack bar food was very good and had a nice variety, very convenient. I liked the international vibe to the facility. Location was great. Close to subway. It had many stores in the area. the entire facility was extremely clean.
